Could anybody explain, what is the point of this machine? How does it work and what is the purpose of these "sticks" and "canals"?

This system is used in the single-track running. The locomotive engineer gets this staff ("stick"😉 from the assistant station-master at the dispatch station - that means that this route is occupied by the train. Then he gives it to the assistant station-master of the end-station - this means the route is free again. Those staffs are controlled by electricity and when the staff is on the end-station, sygnal automatically goes to the first station so they knew that the route is free

Это действительно стоит снять на видео!Я например,не могу эту операцию выполнять без смеха, особенно по ст. Лачупе на переезде,когда все водилы на тебя таращатся!
