Moscow-St.Petersburg High Speed Link Update
Interfax 03/05/97
Developers say the new high-speed rail terminal they plan to
build in St Petersburg will cost $200 million and take between 1997
and the year 2000 to build. VSM, the company developing a high-speed
line between Moscow and St Petersburg, submitted its estimates to the
St Petersburg Town Planning Committee Friday. Trains will cover the
659-kilometers between St Petersburg and Moscow in 147 minutes at
speeds of up to 220-260 kilometers an hour.
